There's something for everyone and there's bound to be someone with similar interests to yours!
Our members model in a variety of scales, and they have an eclectic mix of interests across all Regions, Periods/Eras and locations.
Some just love running trains, some love the challenge of 'fixing something', others enjoy making scenery and, yes, we have a few geeks for whom if it ain't automated its boring!
We're a broad church. and that's part of what keeps us coming back for more!
Our Activities
We meet on Tuesday mornings and Thursday evenings
Tuesdays is mostly about layout construction and the associated tasks: building baseboards, track laying, making the electrical connections, adding scenery etc.
Most Thursdays we set up our Test Track, allowing members to run their locos and rolling stock on a circuit probably larger than they have at home. Typically every third Thursday we ring the changes and have a modelling evening, a quiz or a presentation.
Our Layouts
It's here - whatever Scale interests you ('O', 'OO', or 'n') and whether you run with DC or DCC...
Our Test Track offers both DC and DCC running, with 1 x 'O', 2 x 'OO' and 1 x 'n' (or 'OO9') tracks.
Our Exhibition Layout 'BUCKLEBERRY LANE' is a DCC / 'OO' gauge layout.
We have an 'n' gauge and another 'OO' gauge layout under construction - come and help us finish them!
Learn New skills
Whatever aspect of the hobby interests you - there's almost certainly someone who can help
Whether you're a complete beginner, or just want to learn how to approach a particular aspect of the hobby there's usually someone around who can set you on the right road.
Maybe you'd be interested in knowing how other people go about doing something you already feel competent at - there's always something to be learned. Or maybe you could show others how you do things!
It's all part of the fun!
